We are still fighting the "Guillian Barre" fight. It is MUCH easier, less ominous and more manageable each day. But still, it is overwhelming. We still face questions of our future (don't we ALWAYS?!). We still face discouragement. David still faces extreme pain. There are days when the grind of schedules seems too much. When the unknown seems too frightening.
Overwhelmed. This word also reflects our deep joy through this season of life. We are truly overwhelmed by God's goodness. It was easy to see God's power during David's miraculous healing. It seems that as I let circumstances "overwhelm" me, it is easy to lose sight of these truths. Thanks be to God that He's not waiting for me to notice. He continues to overwhelm us.
We are still receiving gifts from incredible, selfless people. People that we pray we can emulate some day. We still receive notes and letters encouraging us through prayer. We are still very emotional in our house. :) A few weeks back I was starting to feel the "pressure" of life, our time before David's returns to full-time work, and the list goes on. We were anonymously handed an envelope at church. I was so overwhelmed by this saint's generosity. I could not contain my emotion. My heart was overflowing. Overwhelmed. There are no words to express all that He has done to provide and care for our family.
David has had many opportunities to share his story and testimony of God's love and power. He is touching lives and feels purpose in his suffering. He PLAYED BASKETBALL! He SURFED! Talk about overwhelming! God is GOOD.
Our sweet boy turned 1. And his daddy was there. This still overwhelms us in a way that takes our breath away. Our family and dear friends still serve us on a daily basis. We are overwhelmed by their love.
Here are a few snapshots of God's goodness to us these days...
Lovin' on daddy.
Celebrating my sister's graduation from USC...Fight On!
Precious boy on Mother's Day. Zachy helped me plant my flowers!
First time back on the court! David got to play at church with all the guys who have been praying for him while he was away. What a memory!
