Mighty Max turned ONE

Something intense happened in our hearts as we approached Max's first birthday. Every one of our boys birthdays are special of course, it is a sweet time to celebrate the awesomeness of our little dudes! But let me tell you, our little miracle baby, it was one sweet time. Max's first year of life was one big fat test. Each day, the months went by,  we were waiting. Waiting for the other shoe to drop. Waiting for the serious problems (from all his birth complications and brain bleed) to emerge. God's kindness towards us astounds me daily. We were ready. We were prepared. We wouldn't have been surprised. But here we were. Approaching the big ONE and he was a thriving and happy little guy! Seriously, a day does not go by that I do not thank God and relish in the delight that this little guy is in our life. So we celebrated BIG. He earned it!

Thank you Aunt Kristina!

It was so special to celebrate with 2 (of many!) of his amazing nurses in the NICU. It seems hard to imagine how we would have made it through without them!

Maxwell's first year of life was a doozy. We were loved by our family and friends so beautifully. And they all came to celebrate. It was a spectacular day. God used each and every meal (I think when it was all said and done, we were blessed with about 50!!!!), each note, every offer to baby-sit, every prayer. He used it all to demonstrate His love through our community. We are forever grateful.

To our Mighty Max-
God has great and mighty plans for you, little man. Before you uttered your first words, you spoke to the hearts of so many. We love you, crazy baby. You have an uncanny wit for your age, you can seriously take down your big bro's in a wrestling match, you know what you want, when you want it! You are the sweetest cuddle bug, a most content baby and you easily go with the flow.
We love you Maxwell!
